Description :
Glimepiride 1 mg Metformin Hcl 500mg tablets are used in treating abnormal blood sugar levels (type 2 diabetes) and comes under the category of anti-diabetics. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition where the body is not able to produce enough insulin or resists its action. It is used in people where the condition cannot be cured by only diet changes and exercising.

This medication is a primary combination of two drugs- glimepiride and metformin. Glimepiride acts on pancreatic cells and stimulates the release of insulin. The excess sugar from the blood is removed by insulin. Metformin decreases the sugar production by the liver cells.
