Description :
Quetiapine is used to treat schizophrenia in adults and children who are at least 13 years old. It is also used alone or with divalproex or lithium to treat episodes of mania (frenzied, abnormally excited or irritated mood) or depression in patients with bipolar disorder (manic depressive disorder; a disease that causes episodes of depression, episodes of mania, and other abnormal moods).
In addition, quetiapine is used with other medications to prevent episodes of depression in patients with bipolar disorder. Quetiapine extended release is also used alone to treat manic episodes in children at least 10 years old with bipolar disorder. Quetiapine extended release is used in combination with antidepressant medications to treat major depressive disorder in adults. Quetiapine tablets may be used as part of a treatment program to treat bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in children and teenagers. Quetiapine belongs to a class of medications called atypical antipsychotics. It works by changing the activity of certain natural substances in the brain.
Usage and benefits of Quetiapine 200mg tablets
- Restopin 200 tablets are used and indicated for the following conditions:
- Schizophrenia – To treat hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, and emotional withdrawal
- Bipolar disorder – Manages manic and depressive episodes, including maintenance therapy
- Adjunct in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) – Used as an add-on in patients unresponsive to standard antidepressants
- Off-label: Sometimes used in anxiety disorders or insomnia under psychiatric guidance
Working of Quetiapine 200mg tablets
It modulates the activity of neurotransmitters like Dopamine D2 and Serotonin (5-HT2A) in the brain. This dual action stabilizes mood, improves sleep, reduces agitation, and manages psychotic symptoms without causing severe side effects associated with older antipsychotic drugs. RESTOPIN 200 is a mid-to-high strength formulation of Quetiapine designed to provide consistent symptom control for patients with complex psychiatric conditions. Its atypical antipsychotic profile allows for a better tolerability rate and a broader spectrum of mood stabilization. Always consult a healthcare professional for correct usage, and never discontinue the medicine abruptly. Dosages and Administration
