DAPAGIX 10 is the brand name of the Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets manufactured by Liffegenix. This medicine is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and pediatric patients aged 10 or older. Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets also reduce the risk of getting hospitalized due to heart failure for the type  2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease or risk factors.  Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets also reduce the risk of chronic kidney disease in at at-risk individuals.

Composition of Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets  |  DAPAGIX 10 mg 

As an active ingredient, it contains Dapagliflozin propanediol monohydrate.
Ad an inactive ingredient it may contain Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, crospovidone, silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, macrogol 3350, talc and yellow iron oxide.

Working of Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets

Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablet prevents the SGLT2  protein in the kidneys, which reduces the glucose reabsorption and excretes it through urine, This helps in reducing the blood sugar level in type 2 diabetes. 
it reduces the pressure on the heart  and kidneys by promoting the excretion of excess sodium and water.

Indications for use of Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets

• It is used orally and with or without food. 
• Take the tablets at the same time daily.
• Do not chew, crush, or break it.
• In case of a missed dose, do not double the dose. Monitor the blood sugar level regularly and kidney function. 
• Stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water or fluids.

Dosages  of Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets

• For type 2 diabetes, it is recommended to take 5mg per  day.
• Incase of heart failure or chronic kidney disease, It is recommended to take 10mg daily.

Side effects of Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets

• Urinary tract infections (e.g., burning sensation, frequent urination, cloudy or bloody urine).
• Genital yeast infections (vaginal or penile, e.g., itching, discharge, redness).
• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar, especially when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas; symptoms include shaking, sweating, dizziness, hunger).
• Nasopharyngitis (sore throat, stuffy nose).
• Back pain or muscle pain.
• Increased urination or urgency.
• Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, sweet-smelling breath, rapid breathing, or confusion. Seek immediate medical attention.
• A rare, life-threatening infection in the genital/perineal area. Symptoms include pain, redness, swelling, fever, or malaise. Seek urgent medical help.
• Dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or weakness, especially when standing (orthostatic hypotension).
• Reduced urine output, swelling, or fatigue.
• Rash, hives, swelling of the face/lips/tongue, or difficulty breathing. Stop use and seek emergency care.

Precautions while using Dapagliflozin 10 mg tablets

• If you're allergic to Dapagliflozin, don't use the medication.
• In case of any medical history, inform your doctor.
• In case of pregnancy, this medicine is not recommended.
